My Father's Daughter
My Father's Daughter is a collection of poetry and stories written by Vanessa Gordon, about inspiring women from different parts of the Pacific. They share their journeys to empower others and raise awareness about important issues affecting women in the Pacific.
Born in Papua New Guinea and raised in Hawaii, Vanessa Gordon is the only child of the late New Zealand cinematographer and story teller Chris Gordon.
Vanessa tagged along to many sets and locations growing up and witnessed her father create and produce several productions. His creative intuition was passed on to his daughter and following his passing became the inspiration to My Father's Daughter.
Vanessa's poetry is written to invoke feelings of empowerment and to raise awareness for domestic violence, depression, homelessness, and inequality.
